PokéRogue Endless: A Love Letter from Wave 2300+

Hello PokeRogue enthusiasts! I'm here to talk about my current obsession: endless mode. I'm currently swimming in wave 2300+, and as I hunt for that elusive Mewtwo, I've got some thoughts on what makes this game great and where it could shine even brighter.

What I Love

Let’s start with the positives. Endless mode is addictive in the best way possible. It's a game where I feel like I am able to lose myself in a game for hours and hours without realizing it. The game feels rewarding. I am really enjoying that the Pokemon are able to learn different move sets that are atypical to the games. Being able to go through and learn new move set combos really opens the doors for creative team building. Lastly I can't go without mentioning the massive numbers that are associated with endless. I have always been a fan of big numbers and to see the damage numbers and levels climb is awesome!

Areas for Improvement

However, there are a few areas that I think could use some tweaking. The enemy damage reduction and damage tokens can feel incredibly unbalanced. It feels like there should be either a cap or a diminishing return implemented to the enemy damage boost. It can be frustrating to be steam rolling and get instantly one shot by an enemy thousands of levels below you. The suggestion I would make is that maybe if the player gets to a certain level that they are able to use a material to break the level cap on all items. This would help even the playing field. On top of that I think more items need to be made available in each teir. Once you start filling the slots with the proper items. It makes it so that you're really only after the master balls. A change that would be a complete game changer is more team diversity. As it currently stands the best approach is to power level your one carry pokemon, this can feel bland and can lead to stale game play. I think there should be a item that can raise a selected Pokemon to the same level as your highest level Pokemon

And lastly the legendary gatcha could use some quality of life changes. Being able to select the legendary that you want would save time and make the entire process far less frustrating.

In conclusion, PokeRogue Dex is an amazing game that feels like it has brought me back to the days of my youth. I cant wait to see what future updates will bring!
